matt-ryan2 Week 12 Start-BenchSTART ‘EM

QBs
1.) Matt Ryan vs Buccaneers – Look for him to break out of his November slump. The Bucs have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to QBs this season.
2.) Matt Schaub vs Colts – They’ll be playing from behind and will rely on Schaub to keep it close. He’ll go to his stud Andre Johnson early & often.
3.) Alex Smith vs Jaguars – USA Today’s Sports Weekly has him ranked the 24th best QB start. I beg to differ. The Jags defense ranks 26th in the NFL against the pass and Smith has thrown multiple TDs in three out of the five games he’s played this season.

RBs
1.) Ricky Williams at Bills – He’s back to looking like the pre-bong
hitting, soul searching running back we used to know.
2.) D’Angelo Williams at Jets – Williams is clearly the Panthers best back and will prove it against the beaten down Jets… No matter how much crying Rex Ryan does before the game.
3.) Pierre Thomas vs New England - Everybody thinks that this years “MNF game of the year” is going to be a shootout (which it might be) but I expect the Saints to shake it up & give the Pats a heavy dose of Thomas.

naileditscreweditpng Week 11 Nailed It - Screwed ItNAILED IT:

Start Ems that made me look good.

1.) Brett Favre – Threw for 4TDs & stole all of Adrian Peterson’s red
zone glory. 32 fantasy points.
2.) Wes Welker – 15 receptions for 192 yards leading all Wide Receivers
with 35 fantasy points.
3.) Chris Johnson – 151 yards on the ground to keep his string of 100yd
rushing games going.

Sit Ems that made me look good.

1.) Ladell Betts – Got hurt in the 1st quarter and registered 0 fantasy
points.
2.) Austin Collie – He hauled in one measly pass from Peyton Manning
for 2 fantasy points while his counterpart Pierre Garcon put up 16
fantasy points.
3.) Braylon Edwards – Was targeted 5 times with only one reception for
a whopping 2 fantasy points.

SCREWED IT:

Start Ems that made me look bad.

1.) Tom Brady – Well he didn’t do too bad 1TD pass and over 300 yards
for 18 fantasy points… but I expected better in this matchup.
2.) Greg Olsen – He had a respectable 10 fantasy points and should have
had more if his QB didn’t overthrow him in the endzone.

Sit Ems that made me look bad.

1.) Brady Quinn – Who saw this coming… 4TD passes, 304 yards and 36
fantasy points. He’ll be lucky to get those numbers with all his
remaining games combined.
2.)  Jamaal Charles – 19 fantasy points against that Steelers defense
is pretty darn good. Including a 98 yard kickoff return.

brett_favre1 Week 11 Start-BenchSTART ‘EM

QBs
1.) Brett Favre vs. Seattle – The shocking combo of Favre to breakout WR Sidney Rice is one the NFLs best this season.
2.) Tom Brady vs. Jets – This is a statement game for Brady & he’ll have all his weapons at his disposal unlike their last meeting. The Patriots won’t let it come down to the last minute like last weeks debacle.
3.) Drew Brees at Tampa Bay – Brees has been quiet lately as far as fantasy production goes… he’ll make his owners happy to have him this week.

RBs
1.) Chris Johnson at Houston – I know, I’m really going out on a limb. But the last time he played these guys he had 50 fantasy points. I’ll take 30 & be happy!!
2.) Maurice Jones-Drew vs. Buffalo – He’ll make up for the kneel down at the 1yd yard line.
3.) LaDainian Tomlinson at Denver – He’s not what he used to be but as the season progresses he’s getting better & the Broncos are getting worse.

peyton_manning2 Week 10 Start-BenchHindsight is 20/20

Jay Cutler and Alex Smith – in what Fantasy Gurus projected to be a shootout between these 2 QBs…were only able to scrape together 4 fantasy points combined! They should be ashamed of themselves for bringing that kind of performance to the Spotlight Thursday night game. They’re lucky most people didn’t get to see it because it was only shown on the NFL network.

START ‘EM

QBs
1.) Tom Brady at Colts – he loves the spotlight & this Sunday Night
game will put him on the biggest stage so far this season. Plus he must
love the fact that Bob Sanders (Colts hard hitting Safety) is out for
the season.
2.) Peyton Manning vs. Patriots – Ditto for Manning. He loves the
spotlight and has an arsenal of weapons at his disposal. He’ll try to
find the Pats weaknesses in the secondary & expose them.
3.) Mark Sanchez vs. Jaguars – He’s had an up & down season so far but
Jacksonville ranks 26th in the NFL against the pass and some middle of
the road QBs have posted some solid numbers against them.

tom_brady Week 9 Start-BenchAll right, the season is half over and some of you cannot wait for this weekend’s games, and some of you cannot wait for this season to be over! In any case, here are my picks to help you crush the opposition this week:

START ‘EM

Quarterbacks
1. Tom Brady vs Dolphins – The last time he played was in England. He’s had plenty of time to rest up & study! Plus the Dolphins are missing 2 key DBs.
2. Matt Hasselbeck vs Lions – The Lions’ 1-win to date might be their only win.
3. Donovan McNabb vs Cowboys – He’ll produce on the big stage with a ton of weapons at his disposal.

steve_smith1 Once You Go PPR, You Never Go Back!I had read on different fantasy football web sites about the format called PPR (Points Per Reception). The concept for the un-informed that may have stumbled onto this is that you get a point each time a player on your team catches a pass. Seems like a somewhat harmless addition to the scoring system of most any fantasy league. But I am here to tell you, after 8 weeks of the season, it makes quite a difference.

I was looking at year to date stats for our league the other morning and pulled up the list of scoring leaders combining RB-WR-TE and I have to say it turns standard scoring afficienados upside down. The main reason I was looking over these stats was that I was trying to see who would be a good RB to target for a trade, as my roster seems soft in that department. Here is what I found:
